Tideswell Community Hall Needs your Help – Purchase of Freehold

Tideswell Community Hall has been given the fantastic and unexpected opportunity to purchase the site on which the hall is located. The land is currently owned by Derbyshire County Council (DCC) who have offered us (as sitting tenants) the option to buy the freehold of the land. This is a unique opportunity we don’t want to miss as it may not be offered again.

Ownership of TCH will future proof its survival and ensure Tideswell will aways have a community space which is independent and effectively ‘owned’ by the village and for the village. It is a modern, purpose-built venue fully equipped with all the requirements for an up-to-date building – we feel it would be a tragedy not to acquire it now so much money and effort has gone into the project.

In the last 2 years since the Hall opened it has been widely used and is a very versatile venue, accessible to all. Large sums of money were raised and grants awarded to create this wonderful communal facility; the icing on the cake would be the ownership of the site which would guarantee its future forever as a village facility, for the community and belonging to the community.

We are asking the people of Tideswell and District to help raise the additional money needed to purchase the land.

We are looking to raise £10,000 in a relatively short period to make this dream a reality. Donations of any size are welcome either online to Tideswell & District Voluntary Youth Club, Sort code 09 01 52, Account 47409707 or visit our gofundme page at

or by cheque to Tideswell & District Voluntary Youth Club. Cash donations can also be accepted by any of the committee members.
